Bio: Fun, Family- friendly Musical Artist OINKTOINK
Oinktoink is brought to life by Terri Loewy, a songwriter and former animator whose playful spirit and unique imagination inspire her to write fun, family-friendly songs. Growing up in Salem, Oregon, she was inspired at an early age by her dad’s mime skits that bordered on performance art. During school classes, Terri amused her friend Heather by passing her drawings that hilariously animated their teacher. These early experiences fueled Terri’s love of cartoon drawing. Terri’s early musical influences included Spike Jones, whose comedic records filled her childhood home with whimsy and off-center ways of approaching humor. Thus, the seeds were planted for a life spent translating humor into art.
Terri describes her songwriting process as beginning with a “quirky feeling” that demands expression through song. It often starts with a rough visual, followed by silly lyrics, which she then refines into a focused piece. She works with visuals, lyrics, and melodies all at once, allowing each element to shape the others organically.
Writing songs for Oinktoink gives Terri the freedom to reconnect with her unencumbered inner child and to act silly and write about anything. Whether it’s a hot dog that plays baseball, or finding a dog hair on your sock, these songs carry universal messages - as in the playful track “Little Monkey Man” about a child who’s a handful for his mom and dad (a situation that all parents can relate to). These timeless songs for children and families, convey the joyful spirit and cartoon-like charm of Oinktoink to the world. With catchy melodies and whimsical themes, Oinktoink captivates audiences of all ages, proving that music for children can also be a delightful experience for parents.
